Silver plate tray with a raised relief grape pattern along the rim and handles. The tray also has a chased scroll pattern on the flat part of the tray and a plain cartouche in the center. The tray measures 11.25 x 19.5 which includes the handles. It is large enough to hold 6 wine goblets or water goblets. It is also perfect size for a vanity or perfume tray.
I think the tray is probably silver over copper but it is not marked. However I have an oval tray that is very similar in my shop that is a silver over copper tray. The grape pattern and handles are a little darker and do not polish as brightly as the base of the tray. I actually like that because it gives definition and interest to the tray. I have priced the tray accordingly.
There does not appear to be any silver loss other than the grape relief pattern is not as bright. There minimum wear is commensurate with age and use such as light scuffs.
I love the old grape relief pattern which was so popular during the late 1800's and early 1900's.
All silver will come polished ready to use.
