Antique Silver Sugar, Creamer Spoon Holder, 1870's Aesthetic Movement Three Piece Serving Set, Wilcox Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate

Antique Aesthetic movement silver plate sugar, creamer and spoon holder. The three piece set by Wilcox silver plate company was made during the Aesthetic movement probably in the 1870's. The set embodies the craftsmanship of that movement with engraved designs of nature depicting foliage and flowers. The tip of handles have an image of face, the feet almost appear to be cloven with a shell motif connecting the legs to the body of the pieces. The design around the spout or top of the pieces have a very geometric pattern that almost looks like a shield.
Though the pieces are quadruple plate, I believe they were originally gold washed because there is still some very light traces of gold on the pieces. Most has worn off through the years. All of the pieces are in very nice condition considering the age. There is some wear on the inside of the sugar bowl, but the inside of the creamer is in very nice condition. The three pieces are rather heavy, and I do not see any dings in them.
The pieces could be used for entertaining or if desired for individual uses even vases.
The Aesthetic Movement began in 1860 and lasted until 1900. It touched all parts of culture from architecture, fashion, art and metalworking. The items created usually had geometric designs as well as images from nature, and patterns relating to medieval images and Japanese aesthetics. All of these motifs and patterns appear in these three pieces.
