Nippon Chocolate Pot. Beautiful antique Nippon Morimura chocolate or coffee pot. The hand painted drinkware serving pot has a floral design with heavy gold gilt on the handle, lid and around the painted flowers. There is tiny beading along the gold gilt with what appears to be etched or floral designs in the larger part of the gilt. It is in lovely condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The only thing I noticed was a little wear of the gold on the tip of the knob on the lid. I am not sure if the gold was not applied to the very tip or not.
The Nippon backstamp in green with the words Hand Painted and a green wreath with a M within the wreath dates the bowl from 1911 - 1921.
The chocolate or coffee pot will hold 64 ounces, but could also be used for a bouquet of flowers if desired.
