An original Wayne Spradley watercolor painting of a covered bridge. The vintage painting is one of his earlier paintings and is dated 1969. It appears to be in the original frame that is a dark wood but has a light blue glaze on it. The blue on the frame highlights the light blue double mat. I do think the mat has been replaced at some time but they appear to be rag mats which do not discolor.
The painting has a non glare glass on it and I believe that was added at a later date.
Wayne Spradley is a very well known Alabama artist that is primarily known for his watercolors. He began painting in 1968 and is still presently painting and conducting workshops.
He has won over 300 major art awards and his painting was chosen for the 1980 Alabama State Duck Stamp. His work was selected for display in the Alabama State Senate and House floor. His work is found in corporate and private collections in the South and the U.S.
This is a wonderful painting if you like landscapes, woodland art.
